The Westminster Elementary School Library Media Center serves 455 students, Pre-K through 5th grade and 40 faculty members. Mrs. Janet Jenkins, a member of the Westminster staff for 30 years, has been the librarian for the past 6 years. Helping students develop a love for reading is one of her greatest joys. Books and other media enrich all areas of the curriculum. It gives her tremendoussatisfaction to assist her fellow teachers in bringing our children into the era of information literacy.
The library media center web site provides access to relevant web sites for students, teachers, parents, and fellow librarians. The list of books available for Acelerated Reader quizzes and Louisiana schools' online databases can be accessed from the classroom or home with the click of the mouse.
